The Holy See Press Office confirmed on October 14 that Pope Leo XIV underwent blood tests and a chest X-ray following surgery that week. This evaluation indicates that his postoperative recovery is progressing normally.
In a statement released by the Holy See Press Office, Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora, the chief of Thoracic Surgery at the hospital, provided an update on the Pope’s condition. They noted that the results showed values within the expected range for the type of operation performed.
Pope Leo XIV has also begun respiratory physiotherapy and is now walking around his room. Furthermore, he has resumed normal eating habits, having enjoyed both breakfast and lunch.
